Today: Trial for man accused of trying to kill a Huntsville Police Officer to begin

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Court documents show the attempted murder trial for Olusola Kuponiyi is slated to being today, August 8, in the Madison County Courthouse. He’s accused to trying to kill a Huntsville Police Officer during an altercation in August of 2013.

It happened behind the Quiznos on University Drive near Putnam Drive and UAH’s campus.

The defense filed a number of “motions of limine” over the weekend, asking for several pieces of evidence to be excluded from trial. Those include recorded and verbal statements, video and a letter.

Kuponiyi’s trial is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Judge James Smith’s courtroom.
