HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Math can be a real challenge for students of any age – especially at the middle school level, where more advanced concepts are introduced.

If your child could use some help, check out Math Snacks.

Created by the New Mexico State University Learning Games Lab, the content is meant to appeal to kids who don’t really like math, giving them a new way to experience math concepts via videos and games.

The app (there are actually three companion apps for iOS) is free for Apple and Android devices. Although it’s a bit smaller in terms of content selection, what’s been put out is well done. The videos are humorous and interesting. For even easier browsing of the full Math Snacks offerings, check out the website.

Also, make sure to look for the .pdf text resources offered up as supplemental guides for children, to help them apply the concepts they’re exposed to in both the videos and games.
