Huntsville-Madison County Public Library offers free Social Security workshops
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A representative from the Social Security Administration is offering free help to the community. The areas of focus for the two classes include retirement, Medicare enrollment and spouse and children’s benefits.
The classes will be at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library located in downtown Huntsville. The two presentations take place in the library’s Technology Training Center on the 2nd floor on Thursday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m. and another on Tuesday, August 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Those interested in attending are asked to create a “my Social Security” online account at Socialsecurity.gov/myaccount beforehand. Once the account is created, it offers a wealth of information for the viewer.
“It helps you plan for your future, it also helps you understand your past,” Huntsville-Madison County Public Library’s Chris Daniels said. “You’ll get an idea of your past earnings, you’ll also get an idea of what your future estimates might be.”
This event is free and open to the public. The technology training center only has 25 computers, so participants are asked to bring their own devices and use the library’s free WIFI.
