ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, their website was hacked just after four Saturday afternoon.

They say an inappropriate message was put up on their homepage.

They say it was actually the server that hosts their website was compromised, and theirs is only one of many websites affected.

A spokesperson asks for patience and says it may be a couple of days before the website is up and running again.
