HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police Officers were called to the 400 block of Holmes Ave Wednesday night for a man breaking into an automobile.

Officers got a description of the offender from a witness and searched the area. They found a man matching the description and ran after him before catching him.

Investigators arrested Michael Scott Edge, 47, who they say was in possession of stolen property from one of the vehicles he had broken into.

Edge is charged with two counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. Investigators say he matches the description of the person suspected in a number of car burglaries in Twickenham District and the Mayfair community in recent weeks.

Huntsville Police expect to file more charges against Edge.
