Cyclist killed in Limestone County wreck

ATHENS, Ala. - A bicyclist died in a late-night wreck involving a car. It happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Highway 251, near Athens High School.

First responders pronounced the cyclist dead on the scene.  Troopers identified him as Paul Brian Usery, 42, of Athens.

The driver who hit him was in a 2012 Kia.  She has not been charged.

Athens Police blocked traffic in the area while state troopers investigated the deadly incident and cleared the scene.

Troopers continue to look into the situation further.
