HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Redstone Arsenal Gate 7 has been reopened.  It was closed for about 45 minutes Wednesday morning, due to possible unexploded ordnance being found in the area.

Gate 7 is on Martin Road, off of Zierdt Road.  It has been closed a handful of times in the last few months due to similar concerns.

WHNT News 19 asked Arsenal officials about the reason for this closure.  They said construction crews uncovered a possible unexploded ordnance during work.  Redstone Arsenal safety officials evaluated the device and determined that it was inert and posed no immediate danger. The item was removed from the scene for disposal and Martin Road and Gate 7 were reopened.
