HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Students in many local school systems return to class next week, including Huntsville students, which go back on Tuesday, August 4.  The school district wants to make sure you’re aware of rezoning changes made recently that may impact where your child goes to school.

They also urge you to make sure your child is registered before the first day of school, so offices can plan student/teacher assignment.

Visit to use an interactive map.  Once you’re on the map itself, mouse over ‘Tools’ and click ‘Find My School.’  Type in your address and the program will show you which elementary, middle and high school your children attend.  You can also call Huntsville City Schools’ main office at (256) 428-6892 with questions, or visit the central office at 200 White Street, Huntsville, AL 35801.

The changes from the desegregation plan, approved by a federal judge, take effect this school year.

You’ll need Microsoft Silverlight for the map to work properly. If you need more help and detailed instructions click here.
