BOAZ, Ala. (WHNT) -- A city in Marshall County is growing as a company in Boaz announces its expansion.

TS Tech Alabama, LLC has been located in Boaz for years and this week the company announced it is expanding.

"We're real excited to say they're going to be building a 125,000 square foot addition to their building," Boaz Mayor Tim Walker says.

Mayor Walker says the move will bring quite a few jobs, but the exact number will be released in the upcoming weeks. "There's going to be other side jobs that come from their jobs so that's going to be exciting for the future of Boaz," Mayor Walker says.

The Pilgrims plant shut down in Boaz in 2014, so city leaders say the addition of jobs with the expansion spells good news. "These are really good jobs where families can make a living wage and of course, that's going to be an economic boost to the city too," adds Mayor Walker.

Officials say TS Tech has outgrown its current building as the automotive industry continues to expand. "It's exciting  to have this kind of expansion and this kind of news in our community," says Mayor Walker.

The first steps of construction are already underway and the expansion is expected to be complete next year.

Officials say companies from Marshall County and north Alabama will be working on the expansion.
