HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Happy Tummy is celebrating their 7th anniversary at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment this week. What a fitting time to announce they will soon be expanding their gastronomic delights to a second Huntsville location.
The eatery announced the growth earlier this week on Facebook:
The artsy types who have patronized Happy Tummy for almost the past decade likely can't imagine a home for the sandwich shop anywhere else. But owner Catherine Shearer explains, it's less like becoming a chain, and more like going 'bi-locational.'
"No, not selling out just creating a different, alternative brand," she says. "But to tie in totally together still so, that's my challenge right now is trying to keep in the same spirit but have a different name."
While the branding has yet to be announced, the name Shearer will replace at the garden is Clementine. Clementine's Catering has had a home at the botanical garden for 10 years. The owner of the 'deep south gourmet to-go' eatery came to a mutual agreement with garden administrators that it was time to move on and reopen the 5 Points location in Huntsville while continuing their catering services and location in downtown Decatur. Clementine's will say goodbye to the Botanical Garden Tea Room July 25.
Happy Tummy's new brand roll-out will feature a new name, new brand identity and even a new logo departure from their signature smiling large intestine. The menu will feature much of the same favorites like The 'Bad Apple,' 'Craisy Chicken' and the 'Don't Cry For Me Argen-Tuna' -- with additions like soups, salads and tons of options for kids. While juggling all that, Catherine Shearer also has to sort out doubling her workload. "Yeah I'll still be in both places, because I'm everywhere," she laughs.
Shearer says she hopes to be up and running with her new brand at the Botanical Garden Tea Room by August 24.
