HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - It's okay to be your natural self. That's the message one local non-profit is spreading in our community. GirlNaturale is empowering girls and young women to love and embrace themselves. WHNT NEWS 19 surprised them with a Pay it Forward, as they're gearing up for a big event.

For Bridget and Victoria Jones, this is more than just a storage unit.

"Pretty much, this right here is like ground zero," describes Bridget Jones.

It's filled with racks, boxes of shoes and bags of accessories.

"Because it's been so hot recently, we had to move the clothing to another location where it's cooler," says Bridget Jones.

All of this will eventually transform into the GirlChic Boutique, where girls in need, ages 12-21, can come and shop for free before school starts. The mother daughter duo has put on the event for the last three years. It's one of the many projects of the organization they founded together in 2013 called GirlNaturale.

"Through GirlNaturale, we just hope to empower young girls to be their best and natural self," says Victoria Jones. "Within the community, we mentor young girls about things, such as insecurity and the struggle that it is sometimes to be your natural self. We want to give them the confidence to do so."

While Bridget and Victoria Jones toil in the heat, they know it's worth it.

"Last year, what really stood out was a family that came," shares Bridget Jones. "She brought her young kids and they were able to get clothing. One of the girls said how she was appreciative because this year she won't get bullied for the clothing that she had. Every year, there is always something poignant that happens."

Our surprise of $319 is worth a lot to them.

"Wow!" exclaimed Victoria Jones. "We're so grateful for your donation, seriously."

The GirlChic Boutique is Friday, July24th at Calhoun Community College in Huntsville. It's being held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the student center. If you have a need or if you feel a need to donate, you can contact the organization by calling (256) 361-9870 or sending an email to
