MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A motorcycle wreck just south of the interchange of I-65 and I-565 has majorly slowed down traffic there Sunday afternoon.

Officials with the Decatur State Trooper post say the wreck happened just after three in the afternoon on I-65 near the Exit 340 off-ramp.

A 2012 Harley Davidson bike, driven by 46-year-old Claude Judd Herndon II of Decatur, who was wearing a helmet, according to authorities.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation, and officials say the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

The backup ran both directions, as first responders closed one northbound lane and southbound travelers looked on.
