MOULTON, Ala. – The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office says an 87-year-old man is charged in a shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon.  L.C. Hall is accused of shooting a neighbor with a shotgun.

Sheriff Gene Mitchell said the incident happened about 4 p.m.  Hall, of 3256 County Road 70 in Moulton, is charged with attempted murder and assault.  The Sheriff said Hall had been in a feud with a neighbor, and went to the neighbor’s house and shot him once with a shotgun.

The other man was injured when the bird shot rounds struck him in his left shoulder.  The man was seriously hurt, but will survive. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then released.

Mitchell said Hall was upset with the neighbor because of some recent vandalism, and he believed the person was responsible.

Hall confessed to the shooting, Sheriff Mitchell said, and he was booked in the Lawrence County Jail.  He posted $30,000 bond and was released.
