Flash fire at Alabama Farmers Co-op sends one to hospital

DECATUR, Ala. – The Alabama Farmers Cooperative released a statement this morning on an incident that happened Wednesday night. There was reportedly a flash fire in the Feed Mill at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The fire happened in an area that has been being renovated by outside contractors.

Officials from the co-op say they do not know the source of the fire, but they are continuing to investigate the incident.

One employee suffered burns and was taken to the UAB burn unit. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
