Cullman County EMA: One dead following severe storms

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT)– Officials with Cullman County emergency management say one man was killed after being struck by a falling tree Tuesday evening.

It happened along County Road 1135 near the West Point community just after 7 p.m.

Intense storms were moving through with lightning, heavy rain and severe wind over 60 miles per hour at the time.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Cullman County by the National Weather Service Office in Huntsville at 6:59 p.m.
