HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)– It’s not exactly the place you want to be seen making mistakes behind the wheel. Huntsville Police are investigating an accident at the Madison County DMV’s Drivers License Test Center at 1115 Church Street in Huntsville.

Police say a woman was leaving with her son, who had just taken his driver’s test, when she drove into the building, damaging double doors on the front. It happened Tuesday just before 3 p.m.

Officers say she explained she didn’t have working brakes, but officials allege the road test was done in that same car and there had not been issues with the brakes at that time. Police stress the woman behind the wheel at the time of the crash was not at the office to apply for her own driver license.

No one was hurt in the incident, but police are now working on how to secure the building. A contractor arrived on-site and told WHNT News 19 the doors will likely need to be replaced, but the building structure is intact.
