MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) -  The family of Mahalie Freeman hopes for help as they plan the 10-year-old's funeral after she was thrown from a van in a wreck on Gordon Terry Parkway Wednesday.

"Halie's like the glue the glue that held our family together," said her aunt Felicia Terry. "You couldn't be around her very long without smiling."

The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for the funeral arrangements, currently a burden for the girl's mother Beth.

"She's working part time," explained Mahalie's other aunt Myra Lovelace. "No insurance for the death part of it, it would take a load off of us."
