UNA Police search for trio who allegedly tried to steal money from lion donation box

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – UNA Police investigators are looking for three men who they say tried to steal money donated to the lions on campus.

They said on the night of June 22, they caught the trio on surveillance cameras in the area of the George H. Carroll Lion Habitat. The donation box was damaged.

One of the men is very visible, and the others stay back mostly out of camera range.

The most visible is a white male, around 6′ tall, 160-170 pounds, with dark hair and was wearing a very recognizable shirt with a large light colored anchor and chain on it. The second subject is smaller,  with medium dark hair.
