MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) –   A Redstone Federal Credit Union employee has been arrested on theft charges. Credit Union officials tell WHNT they reported the employee to Madison County Sheriff’s investigators after money came up missing.

Officials say a routine internal audit is what led them to look further into Dawn Speegle’s use of a company credit card.

Investigators say Speegle was an Event Coordinator for the Credit Union. A spokesman for RFCU would not say how long Speegle worked for the Credit Union, when the charges were made, or how much she is accused of stealing.  Investigators tell WHNT she is accused of stealing several thousand dollars, but could not provide a specific amount.

Speegle did not work in an area of the Credit Union that processed member transactions or requests and we’re told no member accounts were involved.
