HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A Huntsville attorney known for defending high-profile criminals has been arrested for a handful of drug charges.

Barry Abston, 54, was booked in the Huntsville/Madison County Metro Jail early Tuesday morning at 2:46 a.m.  He posted bond and was released a few hours later.

Abston is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force (STAC) made the arrest, according to a release from Huntsville Police.
