ALBERTVILLE, Ala. – Police say South Broad Street between Jackson and Sand Mountain Drive in Albertville closed for several hours Thursday.  Marshall County EMA officials say a driver hit his brakes to avoid an accident, but ended up spilling chicken parts all over the road.

The truck spilled the contents at the intersection of Broad Street and East Alabama Avenue.

The parts are byproducts from a chicken processing plant.  Crews worked to clean up the mess and contain the smell.  They sprayed deodorizer and poured sand on the mess, and putting it into truck to haul it away.

The road has since reopened.
