Three people arrested after shooting that injured Memphis police officer

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WHNT) - Three people are in custody after a shooting that left a Memphis police officer injured.

Our sister station, WREG reports the officer was shot in the chest, but was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

WREG reports the officer was serving a search warrant when someone opened fire.  Police arrested two men and one woman at Hillcrest Apartments on Eastwind Drive. This followed an hours-long barricade situation.

The officer is in the hospital.  A police spokesman says the officer is doing well this morning.
