UPDATE: Cotton Row Run starts an hour late after large tree falls in 10K route

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The start of the 36th annual Cotton Row Run was delayed for more than an hour while crews cleared a large fallen tree from the route.

The downed tree was located at the intersection of Toll Gate Road and Mountainwood Drive, at the top of “The Hill.”

The race had been set to begin at 7 a.m.  The original delay was 10 minutes.  However, the 10K race didn’t start until just after 8:06 a.m.  The 5K race started at 10 a.m.

The top 10K finisher was Julius Kogo of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His time was 29:33.
