WINCHESTER, Tenn. (CBS) - A veteran skydiving from a plane was injured Saturday in a Memorial Day weekend event mishap in Winchester, Tennessee.

The incident occurred during the opening ceremony of "Red, White and YOU" celebration at the Winchester City Park.

A camera was rolling when the skydiver became entangled in power lines. Winds appeared to have carried the skydiver off course, right into nearby power lines.

The unidentified man was airlifted to the hospital after sustaining non-life threatening injuries, eyewitnesses said the man even gave a thumbs up.

More than three-thousand people, including hundreds of veterans, attended the event that featured a traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, a boat parade and a patriotic light show with Lee Greenwood.
