Monday morning Marshall County fire death ruled accidnetal

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A preliminary autopsy on the man who died in a fire Monday morning has been ruled accidental, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

The autopsy revealed that Ricky Dewayne Kelley, 52, of Horton, died an accidental death due to smoke inhalation. The fire happened Monday morning at a residence on Mint Street.

Several people on the scene of the fire were arrested on other charges. Jeffrey Alan Kelley was arrested on probation violation; Samantha Lydell Huff, Belinda Ogles Mooneyham, and Courtney Danielle Hillis were arrested on other charges.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said the case will remain open until the final autopsy results from the Alabama Department of Forensic Science are returned.
