MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Redstone Arsenal is reopened after an incident Wednesday afternoon.

An Arsenal spokesperson said the gate was temporarily closed “as a precaution to ensure the arsenal maintains security.” He said the gate guards were closing it to “properly identify a vehicle attempting to enter the Arsenal.”

Huntsville/Madison County EMA officials told WHNT News 19 a truck attempted to enter the arsenal without the proper paperwork. The representative said the guards followed protocol by closing the gate to figure the situation out, and it’s been resolved. He said there was not a security risk.
