ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Albertville’s Main Street Music Festival isn’t for a few more months but the lineup and events are set.

“Friday night’s act will be Tracy Lawrence, of course who’s a country male soloist.  Saturday night we will open with Exile, and our headliner Saturday night will be .38 Special,” Melody Whitten said.  Whitten is the Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Albertville.

City officials say this is proving to be the best lineup the festival has had yet. “We’ve never had a lineup that strong in my opinion,” Whitten said. “We’ve had some great acts before, but these are three very large acts with great name recognition, and so we’re expecting a huge crowd.”

The city is doing something different this year. “This year we are highlighting Mueller,” Whitten said. “Mueller, as you know, is one of our local industries. They are celebrating their 40th anniversary in Albertville, and so we are highlighting that milestone and we’re creating some Mueller fire hydrant related activities into the event.”

Plus, the event is expanding. “We’re expanding our footprint this year. We’re taking in more space so we’re going to have even more children’s activities and more vendors and so there are lots of good things,” Whitten says.

The event will feature food vendors and a beer and wine garden. It will run August 7-8 in downtown Albertville and the event is free.
