Madison, Ala. (WHNT) Fans who came out to the Academy Sports in Madison Monday night had to wait a little longer than expected for their Titans. The usually on-time bus tour was running about 30 minutes late. The tardiness is a great sign for the team and fan base. The two stops prior in Columbia Tennessee and Florence Alabama ran late because of an overwhelming amount of support. Titans radio play-by-play announcer Mike Keith called it the "Mariota Effect." Tennessee selected Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mariota last week with it's number two overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Taylor Lewan, the Titan's first round pick from a year ago says it's a double-edged sword. "It's exciting because we picked 2nd right, but at the same time you never want to be in that position. You want to be successful and do all the right things. I think for Titans fans and the guys in that locker room we know that's unacceptable. You can't go 2-14. We're going to be better the chemistry in the locker room is better."

Defensive tackle and Alabama native Sammie Hill also feels like this team is moving in the right direction. "2-14 is not a good look, and it don't feel good.  Just losing period is not what we want to be about and it's not what we are going to be about. So getting Mariota and getting other pieces to the puzzle. Even in free agency we have a great group of guys so we working real hard to put it together and we'll see the outcome of it."
