Harvest, Ala. -  (WHNT) Jacqueline Flowers nearly ran out of gas as she rushed home from work Saturday morning. The only thing on her mind was hugging her son Trey after one of the biggest moments in his life. "I know he works hard and he is so deserving of everything he is getting."

He's getting an opportunity to live out his dream of playing in the National Football League. Trey and his family waited anxiously through the first three rounds, but no call. Saturday morning, the phone rang.

"I got a call from Massachusetts, from the Patriots and they put me on with Bill Belichick, Trey said from his living room in Harvest. "He said congratulations, you are going to be a part of the Patriots and I just said it was an honor and I'm glad you gave me a chance."

Soon after the dust settled, Trey's mother Jacqueline pulled in to the driveway. Her hug would have to wait even longer as Trey was now on a conference call with the media in Boston. Once he emerged from a back bedroom, the moment they both had been waiting for finally happened. An embrace unlike any of the hugs this mother and son have experienced before. "Unbelievable," Trey said. "This is a women that taught me a lot about being humble. Taught me a lot about praying."

Now Trey has the opportunity to give back to his family in a way he never could before. From everyone at WHNT News 19, Congratulations!
