LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – There’s a festival underway to bring back fun in the name of strawberries in downtown Moulton.

Friday was the first day of the two-day Strawberry Festival.

The organizer combined it with “Ag Day” so children could visit and learn about agriculture and enjoy locally grown fresh strawberries.

Stanley Johnson said there was a very successful strawberry festival 10 years ago in Lawrence county but for some reason it was discontinued.

“We just decided to try to revive the strawberry festival and also do something on the Square where is going to promote our great old-time square here and promote Lawrence County,” said Johnson.

The Strawberry Festival continues Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM on the Square around the Lawrence County Courthouse.

There are all kinds of children’s games and activities, ice cream and, of course, strawberries.
