HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – In an effort to connect with more north Alabama doctors, the Huntsville office of the Alzheimer’s Association is hosting its first physicians conference.

Brandi Medina is organizing the event and says, “I have families come in. They really need their physicians to be able to give them the links to all the different community resources… that they’re going to need after a diagnosis like Alzheimer’s.”

At the conference, scheduled for Friday, May 15, doctors will learn more about those available resources.  The event is free and includes lunch, as well as a complimentary golf tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Hampton Cove.

The conference will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include two well-known speakers.  Dr. Keith Fargo is the director of science operations and outreach with the National Alzheimer’s Association.  Bob Zylstra the director of behavioral medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.

The deadline to register for the event is Friday, May 8.  More information, including a registration link, may be found here.

Interested physicians are also invited to call (800) 272-3900.
