HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The 33rd annual Panoply Arts Festival begins Friday at Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville.

Unfortunately, bad weather is once again a concern for this big event.

Event organizers tell us they have a severe weather plan in place.  The event will close only if there is a severe thunderstorm warning, a tornado watch, or tornado warning.  Panoply will continue if it is just raining, so bring your rain gear to the park.

There are more than 40 local groups scheduled to perform. The Indigo Girls will be the headlining act with a concert Saturday at 7: 30 p.m.

Here’s a look at the hours for the three-day event:

  • Friday: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Artists and vendors from all over the world will have booths set up selling their merchandise. You can choose from paintings, pottery, photography and much more.

Friday is military salute night.  Admission will be free for active military members and their dependents.
