Huntsville, Ala. (WHNT) Grissom and Huntsville have of the fiercest golf rivalries in North Alabama. The last few years, these two teams have competed in a match-play style round for the "Predator Cup." The two battled once again on Thursday at Hampton Cove for local bragging rights.
The Grissom boys retained their cup on a tiebreaker. Both teams won 2 matches and split the fifth match, but Grissom owned a larger margin of victory. According to Huntsville head coach Clifford Pate, the best match was Brendan Keller, Grissom and Sam Johnson, Huntsville. Keller sank a putt on 18 to force the tie.
The Huntsville girls swept all four matches Thursday keeping the cup in panther hands. State sectionals begin on Tuesday April 28th.
