Troopers continue crackdown on texting and driving

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - State troopers are ending their 'U Drive. U Text. U Pay.' campaign -- but that doesn't mean they are lightening up on cracking down on distracted driving.

"We don't want people to think it's just a week long thing," said State Trooper Curtis Summerville. "It's going to be a continuation, we'll do it throughout the year and throughout next year."

The rest of April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

"We're trying to save lives. We want hit to be as second nature as putting your seat belt on," said Summerville.
