Wild animals can pose a threat to your garden, but if you plant the right kind of herbs you can add to the variety of your garden as well as keep pests away. Deer and rabbits are typically the most bothersome pests to gardens. To keep them away many gardeners use herbs with a minty aroma. Catmint and Ginger Mint are two recommended herbs to use to deter animals. Rosemary also has a fragrance which may help ward off pests. Rosemary are evergreen and some can grow into big plants, like a shrub. Basil is another herb that may be good to have around. Most people find their fragrance pleasant, but animals don't seem to like it much.
