GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Bassmaster Elite Series tournament boasts free events lasting through this weekend.

“This is the Bassmaster Elite, the second tournament in the series, and we have daily weigh-ins here,” Marshall County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau President Katy Norton says, “So the anglers go out each day and they fish and they come in to weigh-in here three o’clock every afternoon.”

The the heart of it all is downtown Guntersville at City Harbor. Located just off of U.S. Highway 431, the area is full of displays and events set to take place throughout the weekend. “This event is open to the public, and on Saturday and Sunday we have an expo, a food truck event, live entertainment with bands, all of that starts at noon and runs until six p.m.,” Norton says.

The tournament started on Thursday and officials say a good crowd came to Guntersville to take part in the events and watch the weigh-ins.

All of the events will run through the weekend. “Everything is free. We have children’s events with SciQuest here with reptile petting zoos, and slime stations, and all kinds of fun things for kids to do as well,” Norton says.

The day starts early with the launch at 6:15 a.m. The weigh-ins take place at three o’clock that afternoon. The public is invited to attend those events.

All of the events are at City Harbor.
