GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Police say the man who slammed an SUV into Applebee's restaurant in Guntersville faces several charges. Andres Carmelo-Perez, 19, was arrested on the scene Thursday.

Authorities say Carmelo-Perez wrecked while driving on U.S. 431, then continued traveling into the restaurant parking lot. There, the SUV hit three parked vehicles before slamming into the side of the building.

An employee inside the restaurant was hurt, and taken to the hospital. There's no word on the severity of that person's injuries.

Carmelo-Perez is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, assault and DUI.  His bond is set at $200,000.
