ATHENS, Ala. – A Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant employee is recovering after suffering a cut and contamination after a fall Wednesday.

Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant spokeswoman Kristine Shattuck-Cooper said an employee fell about five feet while working in the plant. He suffered a cut to his forehead and received a small amount of radiation contamination around the cut, Shattuck-Cooper said.

The wound was successfully decontaminated and the worker was transported to the hospital.

Shattuck-Cooper said all precautions were taken during the transportation of the worker to the hospital and there is no risk of radiation contamination to the medics or the public.
