REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (WHNT)-- Redstone Arsenal garrison officials say beginning March 23 and lasting through April 10, you can expect loud booms from the installation.

It's a result of "routine operations," according to a media release.

Officials added that things like cloud cover and other atmospheric conditions can impact how loud the booms can be. They assure that "every effort will be made to minimize the noise."

"As a leader in development and testing of explosives and rocketry components, we routinely cause loud noises that are sometimes heard beyond our borders," said COL Bill Marks, Garrison Commander. "We certainly appreciate the communities' understanding as we advance America's strategic, operational and tactical edge in support of our national and homeland defense."
