Louisville, Kentucky – (WHNT) Former Dallas County High School star William Lee scored the final four points to lead his Blazers past Iowa State in the NCAA Tournament. It’s just the 19th time in Tournament history a 14 seed won in the round of 64. Iowa State entered the field ranked as the 9th overall team in the nation.

The Blazers (20-15) have the youngest team in theĀ field with no player on the roster having any tournament experience. In 2014 as a high school senior, Lee was named Mr. Basketball in the State of Alabama. Just one year later he is leading his college team to it’s first tournament win since 2005. Lee scored 14 points while grabbing 12 rebounds in the victory.

UAB outscored Iowa State 9-4 down the stretch and will now play either SMU or UCLA on Saturday.
