HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – About 70 seniors from around the Rocket City were at Steady for Life Wednesday for a carnival with a cause.  From yoga and meditation to sensory art, music, juggling and even some parachute fun. The seniors had fun while improving their health.

All of the activities have two very important goals: brain health and stimulation.

"The best way to take care of the brain is to exercise and that's what we do at Steady for Life, and to have new experiences and continue learning," said instructor Sheila Levenhagen.

Steady for Life aims to keep the seniors' brains healthy , as well as their bodies, by preventing fall prevention.  But the work they do goes much further than inside the classroom.

"We have trips and concerts and movies and eating out together. We really enjoy the camaraderie outside the classes," said executive director Kim Davis.

The day also served as a grand opening for Steady for Life's main studio on Bailey Cove Road.  It's in the shopping center across from Grissom High School.
