DECAUTR, Ala. (WHNT) Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q is one of three Alabama restaurants featured on the first round of the Ultimate Barbecue Bracket challenge.

Garden & Gun magazine put together the contest between 32 different barbecue joints. Staffers say they “couldn’t possibly hit” all of the barbecue standouts from  across the South, but they did their best to “choose representatives joints from each of the regions major barbecue traditions.”

Big Bob Gibson Barb-B-Q in Decatur is matched up against Ridgewood Barbecue in Bluff City Tennessee for the first round. Online voting is open until Monday night.

Two other Alabama restaurants that are part of the competition are Saw’s BBQ in Brimingham and Miss Myra’s Pit Bar-B-Q in Vestavia Hills.
