SELMA, Ala. (WHNT) – WHNT News 19 spent the weekend in Selma commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march.

David Kumbroch put together this video retrospective to look at the weekend from one viewpoint.

Below, we helped condense the events into a moment.

We also visited with some Huntsville City Schools students who got to make the trip.

They were joined by a number of other families as well.

The state troopers also met the crowds there, but in a much different capacity than fifty years ago.

Now, a more permanent history will stay behind even after the crowds leave, so you can experience it for yourself.
