HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-- Usually beer on ice is a welcomed sign. But not when the ice sends the truck hauling the beer out of control.

Huntsville Police say the driver of an 18-wheeler carrying Bud Light, hit a patch of ice while trying to make the turn from Sparkman onto Memorial Parkway, sending the trailer skidding out of control. The big rig ended up on its side and the beer inside, well it was not so lucky.

"We are watching out for broken glass, and it smells like a bar out here, but we are getting the beer unloaded and reloaded onto this truck," a tow truck company employee told WHNT while working Friday afternoon.

The Parkway's southbound traffic on the access ramp was pushed to a single lane. The right eastbound lane on Sparkman Drive was shut down as well.

The driver of the truck who we are told was not from the Huntsville area, was not hurt.
