LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man in a deadly shooting just west of Athens.  It happened Wednesday night at a mobile home park on Zehner Road just before 7:30 p.m.

The area is just near Highway 72 and Quinn Road.

Investigators say Ronnie Earl Kyle went to the home of Charles Franklin (Frankie) McCluskey, looking for his girlfriend, who was McCluskey’s ex-wife.

Kyle pulled in the driveway and Frankie McCluskey went outside with a 20 gauge shotgun.  Kyle demanded his girlfriend come outside.  McCluskey said she wasn’t there, and the two got in an argument.  Investigators say McCluskey fired one shot in Kyle’s car, striking him in the chest.

Kyle, age 41, was rushed to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Frankie McCluskey, 43, is charged with murder.

Investigators say the woman the two were arguing over was not in McCluskey’s home.
