Two die following wreck on Hwy. 79 in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Two people died as the result of a wreck Tuesday in Marshall County.

It happened about 12:30 p.m. on Highway 79 between Scottsboro and Guntersville, according to the Scottsboro Fire Department.

State troopers say Robert Alfred Clark, 86, of Scottsboro was killed when the 2005 Buick he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Clark and a passenger in his vehicle, Joanne Clark, 83, also of Scottsboro, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers continue to investigate the cause of the wreck.
