New movie takes viewers on a tour of Jerusalem

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - It's one of the holiest cities in the world.  Now, some of Jerusalem's holiest sites are on display in a new National Geographic movie.

Jerusalem is currently playing at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center's National Geographic Theater.

The film, narrated by actor Benedict Cumberbatch, tours iconic sites such as the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Dome of the Rock, the Jordan River and the Sea of Galilee.

Tuesday, religious leaders from across the Tennessee Valley were invited to see a special showing of the 45-minute film, free of charge.  A second free showing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5.
