HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Homewood Suites in downtown Huntsville is full up for Wednesday night.

Assistant General Manager Kimberly Howard tells us, “The phone is ringing off the hook.”

She notes that the rings start to run together, “Every phone call that comes in is pretty much asking for a room for tomorrow night.”

No dice here. When people expect the streets to get dangerous, doctors and nurses, who work next door at Huntsville Hospital, immediately make the call for a place to stay.  Howard adds, “There are several families of people that are in the hospital, so they’re staying with us as well.”

She saw the same thing at the front desk to close out last week, “We were wide open. We had like fifty rooms to sell, but all of those went like that, because of the weather.”

So again, with everyone planning for shelter, there’s no room left at the inn.
