HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) - With all of this cold weather, perhaps it would be good to have a healthy dose of spring fever and save money too.  This week is the beginning of several bi-annual money-saving consignment sales in the Tennessee Valley.  It's a great opportunity to get the best deals on the nicest and cutest outfits for children of any age.

For example, Fanci-Pantz Consignment Sale in Hartselle starts this week.  Amy Joiner is the owner.

"Serious savings," she said of her sale.

She says this is the fifth year for the sale. She plans to hand out cupcakes to the shoppers to celebrate, but the real treat is the savings on well-made clothing for a child.

"This dress retails for over $50," said Joiner of a Matilda Jane dress that she held up. "It is in excellent condition and practically looks brand new. This dress will be tagged for $24 at our consignment sale."

She's looking for more consignors. They can bring in items Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Our focus at Fanci-Pantz is on the boutique labelled clothing, however we do accept several other brands like Justice, Gap, Gymboree and Under Armour," said Joiner.

The sale starts Thursday, February 26th.  Hers is just the first of several other spring consignment sales getting underway this week.  You can find a list of them by clicking here.  The consignors are local and turn in a large number of name brand boutique-quality items.

Look for the sales to run through the end of March.  After the spring sales, the organizers take a break, then start thinking about their next sale, which is in the fall.
