MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - The Madison County Sheriff's Department is seeking the public's help in a five-year-old case, and they're adding a heavy incentive.

Governor Bentley signed a proclamation offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.  Sheriff Dorning announced an additional $10,000 reward for information.

"We're hoping for some public help to bring the people responsible to justice," said investigator and spokesman Jeremy Hughes.

On July 12, 2010 Marc Allen Wenger was found fatally shot in his home on Lariat Drive in Harvest.

"We believe there was probably a robbery involved in it as well," said Hughes.

Hughes went on to explain that the proclamation from Governor Bentley shows the department's commitment to closing older cases.

"This is a homicide. This is a victim that deserves justice. This is a family that deserves justice. So this is very important."
